The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the 2025 BECE school placement. This highly anticipated announcement details the secondary school placement for hundreds of thousands of students who sat for the national exam.
A total of 603,328 candidates sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Out of this number, an impressive 590,309 students successfully qualified for placement into Senior High Schools (SHS), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS), and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
The CSSPS placement portal went live on Tuesday, 17th September 2025, at 8:00 PM. Students and parents are now urged to check their school placement online.
How to Check Your 2025 BECE Placement Online
Checking your BECE school placement is a free and straightforward process. Follow these steps to access your 2025 placement slip:
- Visit the Official CSSPS Portal: Go to the designated login hub: cssps.gov.gh.
- Enter Your Details: Input your 10-digit BECE Index Number followed by the last two digits of the examination year (e.g., 100000000025 for 2025).
- Input Date of Birth (Optional): You may be required to select or enter the date of birth used during registration.
- Sign In and Print: Click ‘Sign in’ to view your placement. You can then print your placement slip for reference.
Important Note: The Ghana Education Service emphasizes that checking your placement is absolutely free. Do not pay anyone to perform this check for you.
Key Statistics from the 2025 BECE Placement
The 2025 BECE placement statistics reveal a successful placement process:
- Total Students Placed: 483,800 students have been automatically placed into various institutions.
- Gender Breakdown: The placement achieved a strong gender balance, with 248,038 girls and 234,783 boys successfully placed.
- Self-Placement Eligibility: Approximately 107,509 students (18%) could not be matched with any of their initial choices. These students are eligible for self-placement and will need to use the CSSPS portal to select from available schools.
