GES Releases Official Re-Posting Schedule for 2026

According to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Division of GES Headquarters, the re-posting exercise officially commenced on Wednesday, 3rd June 2026.

Management has directed all Regional Directors of Education to facilitate the exercise in accordance with existing procedures and guidelines.

Full Timeline for 2026 GES Re-Posting Exercise

1. Issuance of Assurance Letters Begins

Date: Wednesday, 3rd June 2026

This marks the official start of the re-posting exercise. Eligible staff seeking transfers can begin obtaining assurance letters from their preferred districts or regions. The assurance letter remains one of the key requirements for the re-posting process.

2. Deadline for Issuance of Assurance Letters

Date: Wednesday, 17th June 2026

GES has set 17th June 2026 as the final date for the issuance of assurance letters. Applicants are advised to secure their assurances before this deadline, as late requests may not be considered.

3. Processing of Inter-Regional Applications

Period: Wednesday, 17th June 2026 – Tuesday, 30th June 2026

4. Final Deadline for Processing All Re-Posting Applications

Date: Monday, 31st August 2026

This is the ultimate deadline for processing all:

  • Inter-Regional Re-Postings
  • Inter-District Re-Postings
  • Intra-District Re-Postings

GES expects all districts and regions to complete the necessary administrative procedures before this date.

5. Effective Date of Approved Re-Postings

Date: September 2026

Successful applicants whose transfers receive final approval will officially assume duty at their new stations from the beginning of the next academic year in September 2026.

The Ghana Education Service has reminded staff that obtaining an assurance letter does not automatically guarantee approval of a transfer request.
