Dear Senior High School seniors,
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has recently made adjustments to the vacation and reopening dates for the academic year 2024, specifically tailored to optimize your preparation for the upcoming examinations.
Originally slated for March 5, 2024, seniors were set to commence their vacation. However, in response to academic considerations, the GES has extended this period. Consequently, seniors are now expected to remain in school until March 28, 2024, before breaking for the semester. This extension aims to afford students additional time to engage in focused academic endeavors and adequately prepare for the impending West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Following the extended vacation, seniors are scheduled to resume classes on April 17, 2024. This adjustment, albeit a deviation from the initial reopening date of May 2, 2024, is intended to optimize the preparation period leading up to the examinations, ensuring ample time for revision and consolidation of learning.
It is essential to note that while there are revisions for seniors, there are no alterations to the vacation and reopening dates for Form 1 and 2 students. Form 2 students will adhere to the original schedule, vacating on March 5, 2024, and reopening on May 2, 2024. Likewise, Form 1 students will conclude their term on March 15, 2024, and resume classes on May 2, 2024.
