The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released a timeline outlining the various stages of the ongoing 2026 graduate recruitment exercise for applicants seeking employment within the Service.
In a statement dated 23rd June 2026, GES management expressed appreciation to all graduates who submitted applications and indicated that the recruitment process is currently underway.
According to the Service, all applications received are being thoroughly reviewed to ensure that applicants meet the eligibility requirements stated in the recruitment advertisement.
GES Recruitment Timeline for 2026 Graduate Recruitment
GES disclosed that the recruitment process will follow the schedule below:
1. Review of Applications
- Deadline: 30th June 2026
The Service indicated that by this date, the review and assessment of all applications submitted by prospective teachers are expected to be completed.
2. Announcement of Shortlisted Applicants
- Date: 20th July 2026
Applicants who successfully meet the requirements and pass the review stage will have their names released as shortlisted candidates on or before this date.
3. Onboarding Process
- Period: 20th July 2026 – 31st August 2026
Following the release of shortlisted candidates, successful applicants will undergo onboarding activities at the Regional and District levels across the country. This process will involve verification, documentation, placement, and other administrative procedures required before assumption of duty.
Successful Applicants to Assume Duty on 31st August 2026
GES further announced that all successful candidates are expected to officially assume duty on 31st August 2026 after completing the onboarding process.
This means that graduates who successfully navigate all stages of the recruitment exercise will begin their professional teaching careers under the Ghana Education Service at the end of August 2026.

Management of the Ghana Education Service has appealed to applicants to remain patient as officials work through the large number of applications received nationwide.
