The contest witnessed thrilling rounds of intense intellectual battles, with Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC, Legon) emerging victorious once again, securing their sixth consecutive title.

As the first round concluded, Accra Academy led with a score of 21 points, followed by Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School with 17 points. Ashaiman Senior High School and Achimota School were tied, each scoring 15 points. The initial results hinted at a potentially surprising outcome, raising questions about whether the reigning champions might face an upset.

In the second round, PRESEC, Legon showcased their determination, surging ahead with a total of 30 points. Accra Academy maintained their competitive edge, trailing closely with 27 points. However, Ashaiman SHS and Achimota School saw their scores diverge, with Ashaiman SHS holding steady at 15 points and Achimota School slipping slightly to 13 points. The home crowd began to feel the pressure as PRESEC asserted their dominance.

By the end of the third round, PRESEC solidified their lead, amassing 43 points. Accra Academy continued to perform admirably, accumulating 37 points. Meanwhile, Ashaiman SHS and Achimota School remained at 15 and 13 points respectively, with Achimota School struggling to keep pace.

The final round saw PRESEC, Legon clinch the championship with a commanding 46 points, reaffirming their status as the regional champions. Accra Academy finished strong with 37 points, while Achimota School and Ashaiman SHS were tied at 29 points. A tie-breaker determined Achimota School as the third-place winner, leaving Ashaiman SHS in fourth.

PRESEC, Legon’s victory was never in doubt, as they demonstrated consistent excellence and strategic acumen throughout the competition. Their triumph in the Greater Accra Championship marks their sixth consecutive regional title, further cementing their legacy in the NSMQ.
