In the world of education, change is often a welcome sign of progress. For this upcoming academic year, BECE graduates will now have the opportunity to make a total of 11 school selection choices during the CSSPS application process.
Yes, you heard it right, 11 choices! This significant increase in options aims to make the transition to the next phase of your education smoother and more tailored to your preferences.
Let us jump into the details of this new CSSPS procedure:
Category A School Choice
In the initial 5 schools, there exists a special category known as Category A, comprising 92 schools. This category offers diverse options, including 5 STEM schools, 34 TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) institutions, and various senior high and technical schools.
As a BECE graduate, you will be able to select one school from Category A. This choice is your chance to explore specialized fields and align your educational path with your interests and aspirations.
Category B School Choice
Category B encompasses 260 schools, where you can select a maximum of 2 schools. Like Category A, it also includes 34 TVET schools, along with other senior high and technical institutions. This category provides room for broader exploration and ensures that you have more than one appealing option to consider.
Category C School Choice
The largest category, Category C, boasts 574 schools. Within this vast selection, you will find 154 TVET institutions, alongside senior high and technical schools. Here, BECE graduates are given the flexibility to choose up to 5 schools.
This abundance of choices allows you to tailor your educational experience to your unique goals and preferences.
Category D School Choice
Lastly, Category D encompasses all 928 schools in Ghana, each offering both day and boarding options. Here, you will be required to select at least one compulsory day school located within a 16km radius of your catchment area.
Alternatively, you can opt for any of the schools listed in the appendix, known as special boarding schools. This approach ensures that every student has access to a nearby day school or a suitable boarding option, promoting accessibility for all.
