The Ghana Education Service (GES) is actively working toward securing financial clearance to enable the recruitment of 2024 graduate teachers who are currently on pending status for consideration. This development brings hope to many newly trained teachers awaiting official postings.
According to recent updates, both the Minister for Education and the Director-General of GES have confirmed that they have formally written to the Ministry of Finance. Their request seeks the necessary approval to initiate the recruitment process for these graduates who have been left in limbo due to administrative delays.
The delay in the posting of these graduate teachers was primarily due to the expiration of the previous financial clearance. Issued by the Ministry of Finance, that clearance lapsed in December 2024 before GES could complete the recruitment and absorption process. As a result, a significant number of graduates were left waiting despite meeting all the required qualifications.
To address this issue, a dedicated committee has been formed. This committee has been tasked with overseeing the recruitment process and ensuring timely updates on all matters related to the posting of affected graduates. Their work is expected to streamline communication between stakeholders and expedite the clearance and subsequent postings once approval is granted.
GES has assured all affected graduates that every effort is being made to resolve the issue swiftly. The Education Ministry and GES leadership remain committed to ensuring that qualified teachers are placed in schools where their services are needed, especially as the academic year progresses.
