2026 GES Recruitment - What To Do Before Reporting To Regional Office

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the contact numbers for all 16 Regional Education Offices as the 2026 Graduate Teacher Recruitment Exercise enters its final and most important stage.

Following the release of posting details for successful applicants, GES has directed newly recruited graduate teachers to report to their assigned Regional Education Offices for document verification, onboarding, and processing of their employment records before assuming duty.

To make the onboarding process smoother and reduce unnecessary travel, the GES Public Relations Officer, Daniel Fenyi, has advised successful applicants to contact their respective Regional Education Offices before travelling. According to him, many applicants will be travelling long distances from different parts of the country, and a simple phone call can help them obtain important information before making the journey.

He further assured applicants that the GES Public Relations Unit will continue to provide official guidance throughout the recruitment process until newly recruited teachers receive their first salaries.

GES Recruitment Enters the Regional Verification Stage

The 2026 Graduate Teacher Recruitment Exercise has now progressed beyond the selection stage. Successful applicants have already been assigned to the regions they selected during the recruitment application process.

Unlike previous recruitment exercises, GES has introduced a decentralized verification system. While the GES Headquarters handled the recruitment and selection process based on vacancies submitted by the various regions, the Regional Education Directorates are now responsible for verifying applicants’ credentials and completing the onboarding process.

Only applicants who successfully complete this verification exercise will receive their official appointment letters and proceed to their assigned schools.

Posting Details Now Available

GES has confirmed that posting (appointment placement) details for successful applicants are now available on the official recruitment portal.

Successful applicants should:

  1. Visit the official GES recruitment portal.
  2. Log in using their recruitment credentials or voucher.
  3. View their appointment or posting details.
  4. Download or print their placement information for future reference.

GES has reiterated that checking postings is completely free and applicants should not pay anyone to access recruitment information.

Reporting Date for Successful Applicants

According to GES, all successful applicants are expected to report to their assigned Regional Education Offices according to the following schedule:

  • Reporting Begins: 7th August 2026
  • Verification Exercise Ends: 31st August 2026

Applicants are encouraged to report within the stated period to avoid delays in processing their appointments.

Contact Regional Offices Before Travelling

In his latest recruitment update, GES Public Relations Officer Daniel Fenyi encouraged successful applicants to contact their assigned Regional Education Offices before travelling for onboarding.

He explained that many applicants will travel considerable distances from their homes to their assigned regions. Calling the regional office beforehand allows applicants to confirm important information, including reporting arrangements and any region-specific requirements, thereby saving time, reducing travel-related stress, and ensuring a smoother onboarding experience.

He also reaffirmed that the GES Public Relations Unit remains committed to supporting applicants throughout every stage of the recruitment process until they officially begin work and receive their first salary.

Why the GES Regional Call Centre Numbers Were Introduced

The Ghana Education Service introduced the regional call centre system to improve communication between teachers, education staff, and Regional Education Directorates.

The helplines are intended to provide support on issues such as:

  • Recruitment and onboarding enquiries
  • Posting and appointment information
  • Salary and payroll concerns
  • Promotions and upgrading
  • Staff transfers
  • Administrative guidance
  • General official enquiries

The initiative forms part of GES’s broader effort to improve service delivery and ensure timely communication across all regions.

Documents Required for Regional Verification

Successful applicants must report with their original documents for verification.

The required documents include:

  • Ghana Card
  • College of Education Certificate (where applicable)
  • University Degree Certificate
  • Professional Certificates
  • National Service Certificate
  • National Teaching Council (NTC) Licence
  • WASSCE Certificate (where required)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Printed GES Recruitment Application Form
  • Passport-sized photographs
  • Any additional supporting documents requested by the Regional Directorate

Applicants should ensure that all documents are authentic and that names, dates of birth, and other personal information match across every document.

Regional Master Lists Already Available

GES has clarified that successful applicants do not need to carry additional proof showing they were selected.

According to the Service, the official Regional Master Lists have already been forwarded to all Regional Education Offices before the commencement of the verification exercise. This means officials at the regional offices already have the details of successful applicants, making the verification process more efficient.

What Happens During the Onboarding Exercise?

The regional verification exercise is designed to complete all administrative processes before newly recruited teachers officially assume duty.

During the exercise, officials will:

  • Verify applicants’ identities.
  • Confirm academic qualifications.
  • Validate National Service completion.
  • Verify NTC teaching licences.
  • Process employment records.
  • Complete onboarding documentation.
  • Prepare appointment letters for successful applicants.

Applicants who successfully satisfy all verification requirements will proceed to the final appointment stage before reporting to their assigned schools.

Important Guidelines for Applicants

GES has advised successful applicants to observe the following guidelines:

  • Report only to the region selected during the recruitment application.
  • Ensure all documents are genuine and authentic.
  • Verify that personal information is consistent across all documents.
  • Keep copies of every document submitted.
  • Report within the official reporting period.
  • Contact the Regional Education Office before travelling whenever clarification is needed.

Failure to comply with these requirements may delay the appointment process.

Beware of Recruitment Scams

GES has once again reminded applicants that recruitment into the Ghana Education Service is completely free.

Applicants should:

  • Never pay anyone for recruitment assistance.
  • Ignore calls, text messages, or social media accounts demanding payment.
  • Report suspected recruitment fraud to the Ghana Police Service.
  • Rely only on official GES communication channels for recruitment updates.

What Happens After Verification?

After successfully completing the regional verification exercise, applicants will proceed through the remaining employment stages:

  1. Document verification and clearance.
  2. Processing of employment records.
  3. Completion of onboarding procedures.
  4. Issuance of official appointment letters.
  5. Reporting to assigned schools.
  6. Assumption of duty as newly recruited GES teachers.

Final Thoughts

The release of the official Regional Education Office contact numbers marks another significant milestone in the 2026 Ghana Education Service Graduate Teacher Recruitment Exercise.

With posting details now available, regional master lists already distributed, and reporting scheduled from 7th August to 31st August 2026, successful applicants should focus on preparing their documents and contacting their assigned Regional Education Offices before travelling.

The latest advice from GES Public Relations Officer Daniel Fenyi reinforces the importance of communicating with regional offices in advance to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. As the recruitment process enters its final phase, applicants are encouraged to rely solely on official GES announcements, remain vigilant against recruitment scams, and complete every verification requirement on time.

For all successful applicants, the final steps toward becoming fully employed teachers in the Ghana Education Service have now begun.
