The resumption heralds the start of the second term of the 2023/24 academic year, commencing on January 9 and extending through to April 11, 2024. Students and teachers alike are poised to delve back into the enriching world of learning and growth.
The classrooms, once again abuzz with the exchange of knowledge, will witness the continuation of academic activities, fostering an environment of curiosity and exploration.
But before we delve into the upcoming term, let’s take a moment to reflect on the recently concluded Christmas break.
From December 23, 2023, to January 8, 2024, students, teachers, and staff had the opportunity to unwind, recharge, and celebrate with loved ones. It was a time for joy, festivities, and the creation of cherished memories that will linger in the hearts of all.
Looking ahead, the academic calendar unfolds with a well-structured plan for the remaining part of the school year. The second term vacation is slated from April 12 to April 29, 2024, providing a brief interlude for everyone to rejuvenate and prepare for the final leg of the academic journey.
The third and final term is scheduled to commence on April 30 and will run until July 25, 2024, marking the culmination of the 2023/24 academic year.
As the academic year draws to a close, schools will vacate on July 25, offering students, teachers, and staff the chance to reflect on their achievements and look forward to the promising horizon of the next academic year.
A few key points merit attention as schools resume their activities. The structured school hours, encompassing seven hours a day with six contact hours and a one-hour break, ensure a balanced and productive learning environment.
Additionally, the Ghana Education Service plans to conduct the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the months of September/October, a critical assessment of the knowledge and skills of Junior High School students.
