The Ghana Education Service after the release of the school placement for BECE candidates, has outlined some guidelines for the candidates as a guide to self-placement.
In a statement issued by GES and sighted by GESHub.org, candidates who are unable to get automatic placement as supposed to be the case in any of their selected schools, would be required to visit any of the official CSSPS website provided by GES to do a self-placement.

SHS self/manual placement guidelines
- Ensure that your compulsory Day option is within your catchment area where you can conveniently reside.
- In the case of Technical Programmes, ensure that you consult the school register to verify that the schools you select offers your desired programme.
- Do not choose schools based on where your friends are going or what programmes they want to offer.
- Do not leave school choices to an internet café attendant in the case of self-placement.
- Do not assume that you can choose a school as a Day Student and switch to Boarding upon attaining admission to the school.
As a parent, the Ghana Education Service has asked that you take interest in the SHS self-placement of your ward.
Additionally, candidates who are yet to take a step in their school selection have been encouraged to strictly go by the SHS self placement guidelines as outlined by GES in conjunction with the Ministry of Education.
