The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced its plans to kickstart the sensitization and education campaign for this year’s guidelines on school selection into Senior High Schools.
In a recent statement released by the Management of GES, they have extended their invitation to the general public, with a specific focus on parents, candidates, and teachers, to actively engage in this crucial process.
According to the announcement, the campaign is set to begin on Friday, 18th August, 2023. This marks the starting point for disseminating the essential information regarding the procedures and criteria for selecting schools for the upcoming academic year. The goal is to ensure that all stakeholders are well-informed and equipped to navigate the selection process effectively.
In their commitment to reach every corner of the nation, the GES has strategically planned for the sensitization to take place across all Regional and District Education Directorates, as well as within schools themselves. This approach guarantees that the information reaches as many interested parties as possible, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the guidelines.
An important aspect of this announcement is the official school selection period, which has been scheduled to occur between the 23rd of August and the 4th of September, 2023. During this time, parents, candidates, and teachers will have the opportunity to select their preferred Senior High Schools in alignment with the outlined guidelines.
To ensure a seamless placement process this year, parents and guardians are strongly advised to actively participate in the school selection process. Their involvement will not only contribute to a successful placement for their wards but will also play a role in the overall effectiveness of the education system.
As an added convenience, candidates will also be provided with the option to confirm their school choices through a texting service to a designated short code. The exact details of this short code will be communicated in due course, allowing candidates to easily confirm their selections before the final placement is made.
