The Management of the Ghana Education Service has outlined the different types of transfers within the Service.
According to GES, there are three (3) different forms of transfers and each one of it has its own required documents to be submitted for approval.
The different forms of transfers within the Ghana Education Service are:
- Intra-district transfer
- Inter-district transfer
- Inter-regional transfer

What is GES intra-district transfer?
This form of transfer refers to the transfer which is within the same district.
A teacher who seeks for this transfer simply wants to be moved from his/her current school to a different one with the same district.
Being one of the easiest transfers to be approved, GES intra-district transfers are mostly handled by the District Director of Education within the District from which the teacher wants to be transferred from.
