The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) has become a prestigious academic competition in Ghana, bringing together the brightest young minds from various regions of the country.
In the Volta/Oti Region, this competition has witnessed fierce rivalry and intense battles over the years. Let us take a closer look at the schools that achieved the status of runners-up in the Volta/Oti Zone from 2019 to date.

2019 and 2020: A Hiatus
Unfortunately, the years 2019 and 2020 saw no NSMQ competition in the Volta/Oti Region, depriving us of the chance to witness the intellectual prowess of the schools in this area.
2021: Sogakope SHS and Sonrise Christian High School Shine
In 2021, the competition resumed, and Sogakope SHS and Sonrise Christian High School emerged as the runners-up. These schools displayed exceptional knowledge and teamwork, highlighting the depth of talent in the region.
2022: Sonrise Christian High School and Mawuli School Take the Spotlight
The following year, Sonrise Christian High School continued to demonstrate their impressive performance, securing the runners-up position once again. They were joined by Mawuli School, adding another layer of competition to the zonal stage.
2023: Keta SHTS and Bishop Herman College Impress
In the most recent edition of the NSMQ in 2023, Keta SHTS and Bishop Herman College stood out as the runners-up in the Volta/Oti Zone.
The National Science and Maths Quiz continues to be a platform that celebrates and encourages excellence in science and mathematics education in Ghana. While only one school can emerge as the overall winner, every participant, including the runners-up, contributes to the growth and development of education in the country.
