In a thrilling turn of events, the Presbyterian Boy’s Secondary School (PRESEC) Legon has emerged as the reigning champion in the latest EN Analytics Top 100 Senior High School Rankings for Science and Mathematics in 2023.
PRESEC Legon’s remarkable ascent to the number one spot in the 2023 rankings is indeed impressive. The school had previously secured the third position in the 2022 national ranking, and in a remarkable feat, they managed to surpass their rivals, Prempeh College, to clinch the highest position this year with an outstanding total of 645 points.
Prempeh College, while putting up an impressive performance with 595 points, claimed the second spot in this highly regarded ranking.
EN Analytics compiled the 2023 rankings based on data from 198 schools spanning all of Ghana’s 16 regions. The primary criterion for ranking was the performance of the schools in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) at the national level, coupled with the category of the respective school.
This methodology aims not only to celebrate the winners but also to acknowledge and reward consistent performance across the board, irrespective of whether a school secures victory in the competition.
The Ghana Education Service oversees a total of 679 Senior High Schools (SHSs), and being recognized as one of the top 100 in science and mathematics is an achievement of great significance.
One of the key objectives of the EN Analytics Senior High School Rankings is to establish a globally recognized and trustworthy ranking system. This system is intended to serve a wide range of stakeholders, including students, educators, governmental bodies, and the general public.
