The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has taken a significant step toward making tertiary education more accessible and affordable in Ghana. On April 29, 2025, the SLTF officially launched its No-Fees-Stress registration portal, enabling first-year students in public tertiary institutions to apply for financial assistance under a bold new government initiative.
Announced by the Honourable Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, the launch marks a key milestone in the rollout of the No-Fees-Stress policy—a transformative and visionary approach to breaking down financial barriers that prevent many Ghanaian students from accessing higher education.
A Strategic Investment in Ghana’s Future
The No-Fees-Stress policy is more than just a funding mechanism. It is a strategic investment in the human capital of Ghana, aimed at promoting inclusive and equitable access to tertiary education. By removing the burden of upfront fees, the policy helps level the playing field for all qualified students, regardless of their financial background.
The policy supports the government’s long-term vision of human capital development, enhancing Ghana’s global competitiveness and building a skilled, educated workforce for the future.
Seamless Online Application Process
The newly launched No-Fees Stress Portal simplifies the application process for students. First-year applicants can now easily input their details online, allowing SLTF to authenticate their eligibility and process financial support efficiently.
