The National Teaching Council (NTC) has issued an important update regarding the 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), bringing some reassurance to both prospective candidates and those preparing for resit.
In a statement released by the Head of Public Affairs, Dennis Osei Owusu, the Council acknowledged the concerns raised by candidates and emphasized that it is working closely with the Ministry of Education to address them. The update comes at a time when many candidates are anxious about the future of the licensure exams and what the next steps may be.
According to the NTC, the Government of Ghana has placed the teacher licensure system under review as part of its broader “Reset Agenda.” In line with this, the Honourable Minister of Education has set up a dedicated committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the licensure regime. The committee is expected to submit its report by the end of next week.
The NTC has urged all concerned candidates to remain patient during this period, assuring them that no decision will be made that could unfairly affect their prospects.
