The Ghana Education Service (GES), in a directive dated 19th May 2025, has officially designated Wednesday, 21st May 2025, as a National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day for all teachers across the country. The day has been set aside for a nationwide virtual training focused on Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being, under the theme: “The Science of Stress.”
This initiative, spearheaded by the National Teaching Council (NTC) in collaboration with KANTON 360, forms part of broader efforts to enhance the professional competence and well-being of teachers. The training session is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. and will be delivered entirely online.
In accordance with the CPD Day arrangement, students are to remain at home, as there will be no academic activities in public schools nationwide on the stated date. The training is mandatory for all teachers, and participants will earn CPD points upon completion.
According to the GES directive signed by Dr. Munawaru Issahaque, Acting Deputy Director-General (Q&A), master facilitators have been fully trained and are prepared to conduct the session across all districts. Training schedules and access details have been distributed to ensure seamless participation.
