A letter purportedly issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES), dated 15th July 2025 and bearing the signature of an Acting Director, has been widely circulated across social media platforms, claiming that the reopening date for Form Two (SHS 2) students has been rescheduled from 28th July 2025 to 4th August 2025.
However, GES has officially flagged this document as FAKE, with a bold red stamp on the circulated copy, indicating that the content is not from an authentic or verified source. The false document claims to instruct all regional directors of education to inform heads of double-track senior high and technical schools about the supposed change in reopening dates.
The fake statement, attributed to Prince Agyemang-Duah (Ag. Director, Schools and Instruction Division), aimed to create confusion among parents, students, and school administrators regarding the academic calendar. It further stated that school heads should inform students and guardians about the new date and make preparations accordingly.
GES has cautioned the general public, especially school authorities and parents, to disregard such unauthorized releases and always refer to official GES communication channels—including their website and verified social media handles—for accurate information regarding school reopening and the academic calendar.
