The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds to cover the costs of the 2025 WASSCE practical examinations. In a press statement issued on 26th July 2025, GES confirmed that the funds have been disbursed to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country.
According to the statement, this financial support ensures that all practical examinations scheduled for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) are fully supported. This includes the procurement of required materials and other essential resources necessary for the successful conduct of the practicals.
GES highlighted that the release of these funds is aimed at promoting a smooth and well-coordinated examination process. By doing so, students can focus on their academic preparations without the added stress of financial burdens, thereby also easing the pressure on parents and guardians.
The Service urged regional, district, and school authorities to apply the funds strictly for their intended purpose. Emphasis was placed on efficiency and accountability, with GES management expected to monitor the utilisation of the funds closely. This, they noted, is to ensure compliance with established standards and to uphold the integrity of the examination process.
GES further expressed appreciation for the cooperation of all stakeholders involved in the education sector. The Service reaffirmed its commitment to creating an enabling environment that supports the academic success of all students.
