The Management of the Ghana Education Service has granted permission for eligible students to temporarily leave school and participate in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
According to a circular sent to all regional directors of education, Form two (2) students will be allowed a three-day window to register for their voter ID cards. This opportunity will be effective from Friday, September 22nd to Sunday, September 24th, 2023.
“The Form two (2) students are granted three (3) days effective Friday, 22nd to Sunday, 24th September, 2023”, GES wrote.
To ensure that this information reaches all relevant parties, regional directors of education have been tasked with communicating this directive to all Heads of Second Cycle institutions within their respective jurisdictions.
The limited voter registration exercise commenced on Tuesday, September 12th, and is set to conclude on Monday, October 2nd, 2023.
During this 21-day period, including weekends, first-time voters are encouraged to visit the district offices of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) to complete their voter registration.
