The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the commencement of the 2024 promotion application process for eligible teaching staff. With reference to Ref. No. GES/HR/PR19/24/02, applications are invited from suitably qualified serving Officers/Teachers for consideration for promotion to various grades, including Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent.
Qualifications for Application
For the grade of Deputy Director, applicants should have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director I on or before 2019 and should have remained continuously in the post since that date, except for approved leave of absence.
For Assistant Director I, candidates must have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director II on or before 2019 and should have continuously served in the post since then, except for approved leave of absence.
Applicants for Assistant Director II should have been promoted to the grade of Principal Superintendent on or before 2019 and should have continuously served in the post since that date, except for approved leave of absence.
Candidates for Principal Superintendent should have been promoted to the grade of Senior Superintendent I on or before 2019 and should have continuously served in the post since then, except for approved leave of absence.
Officers/Teachers with Master’s Degrees and Ph.D. qualifications
Applicants with Master’s Degrees and Ph.D. qualifications should note the following:
- Their Master’s/Ph.D. program should be on the approved GES course of study.
- The Master’s/Ph.D. certificate should not have been obtained before the previous promotion.
Applicants intending to use their Master’s/Ph.D. certificates for promotion to Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Deputy Director should have obtained their certificates on or before 2021.
Mode of Application
All applicants are required to log on to gespromotions.gov.gh to apply.
- Applicants must complete the application form and upload a passport-sized photograph.
- Only the last Promotion, Upgrading, or Appointment Letter should be uploaded.
- Candidates using Master’s/Doctorate Degrees must upload their certificates.
NB: All documents uploaded should be in PDF format, except for the passport-sized photograph, which should be clear and readable.
Deadline
The deadline for online applications is 31st March 2024. Applicants are therefore urged to promptly inform all eligible Officers/Teachers about this advertisement to ensure they meet the indicated deadline.
It is important to note that only completed application forms accessed and uploaded through the website will be considered. Failure to comply will result in outright disqualification.
