The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially reopened the Teacher Promotion Application Portal for the 2025 cycle, providing another opportunity for eligible educators and officers to apply for advancement in rank.
This comes after an extended period of technical issues that previously halted the application process, leaving many teachers in limbo. With the relaunch, GES has outlined a revised application process, clear eligibility criteria, and important deadlines that all applicants must follow.

Step 1: Navigate to the Registration Portal
- Click the link and select the promotion module.
- Input your Staff ID, email, and valid phone number.
- First-time users without an Application Code should select Register to receive one.
- A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your email and phone for verification.
- Once verified, your Application Code will be sent to you. Keep it secure!
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to high traffic, the system is currently very slow. Many users are experiencing issues like receiving multiple invalid codes. This happens because they issue the same command multiple times, thinking the system has not responded.
Tip: Issue your command once (e.g., Register or Submit), then wait patiently for the system to process it. Do not refresh or repeat the action too quickly — doing so will generate multiple codes or errors.
Step 2: Complete the Registration Forms
- Enter your Staff ID or Ghana Card Number and your Application Code to begin.
- Click Start New Application and then proceed to the Application Form.
- Fill in your details accurately and completely.
- You may save and continue later using your Staff ID and Application Code.
- Review for errors and then click Submit.
- Download and securely store the final form for your records.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
- A passport-sized photograph (jpeg/jpg/png format)
- Last promotion letter, appointment, or upgrading letter (PDF)
- Highest academic certificate used for the promotion (PDF)
Ensure all documents (except the photo) are in clear PDF format.
