The Management of the Ghana Education Service has revised and released the 2022/2024 academic year calendar for single track Senior High Schools in the country.
In today’s guide, we will walk you through the new reopening and vacation dates for all Single track schools in the country according to the revised academic calendar.
1st semester reopening
According to the official revised calendar released by the Service, the 1st semester of the academic year commenced for forms 2 & 3 on January 10.
The form 1 students will however report to school to begin their 1st semester session on February 20.
1st semester vacation
However, all these 3 forms will vacate the same day. Thus, April 5.
These students will spend just 10 days at home as their vacation period as school goes down for the 1st semester on April 5.
2nd semester reopening
April 17 has been noted as the 2nd semester reopening date for all form 1, 2 and 3s.
Although these stream of students will return to school the same day to commence activities for this semester, their vacation dates vary.
2nd semester vacation
June 2 will see all form 3s go on break and return to school on June 9 whiles form 2s and 1s will vacate on August 25 and September 15 respectively.
The Form 3 students after returning to school on June 9 will be in school until September 15 when they will be done writing the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination for all Senior High Schools in Ghana
2023 WASSCE date
Note: The West African Secondary School Certificate Examination for all Senior High Schools in Ghana has been scheduled to commence on August/September 2023.
