This recognition reflects the program’s remarkable efforts to foster a love for science and mathematics among students in second-cycle institutions in Ghana.

The NSMQ, originally conceived as a means to promote science and math studies, has evolved into an enviable brand that captures the hearts of Ghanaians annually. It has become a tradition that resonates not only with current students but also with alumni, who take immense pride in the accomplishments of today’s youth.

This unique program has achieved several significant milestones:

  1. Promoting Academic Excellence: The NSMQ has played an important role in promoting the study, standard, and popularity of science and mathematics in Senior High Schools (SHS). It encourages students to embrace these subjects, nurturing a generation of young minds passionate about science.
  2. Fostering Critical Thinking: By participating in the NSMQ, SHS students develop quick thinking skills and a probing scientific mindset. The program fosters healthy academic rivalry among schools, motivating students to excel academically.
  3. Alumni Engagement: The NSMQ rekindles the love for their alma mater among old students. It encourages alumni to give back and support their schools, creating a sense of unity and shared purpose.
  4. Cultivating a Science Culture: The program has successfully instilled a degree of science culture in Ghanaian society, emphasizing science as a way of life. It promotes the idea that science is not just a subject but an integral part of our daily existence.
  5. Corporate Sponsorship: The NSMQ’s success is not only measured in terms of academic achievement but also in its ability to secure blue-chip corporate sponsorship from reputable companies, an unprecedented achievement.

In addition to its remarkable impact on education, the NSMQ has also been recognized for its innovative approach to communication. The program’s shift towards modernism led to the well-deserved accolade of “Marketing-Oriented New Media Campaign of the Year” by CIMG.
