The second term begins on January 8, 2026, and will span 12 weeks. This term will conclude on April 1, 2026, followed by a vacation from April 2 to April 20, 2026. Students and teachers will enjoy a mid-term break during this term as well, in line with GES’s revised calendar policy.
Third Term
Term Duration: April 21, 2026 – July 23, 2026 (13 weeks)
The third and final term will reopen on April 21, 2026, and run for 13 weeks, ending on July 23, 2026. The term break will begin the following day, July 24, 2026.
Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)
GES has announced that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for the 2025/2026 academic year will be held from May 4 to May 11, 2026. This is a crucial period for final-year Junior High School students, and adequate preparation is strongly encouraged.
