Thousands of university graduates under the “Pending for Consideration” category have called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministries of Education and Finance to expedite the release of their appointment letters. In an open letter addressed to the government, these graduates expressed deep frustration over prolonged delays in their recruitment process, despite having completed their education and awaiting placement in the education sector.

The affected graduates, who have dedicated years of effort and financial resources to their studies, now face significant uncertainty. Many are struggling with financial burdens, mental distress, and diminishing hope as they await employment. Families who have sacrificed immensely to support their education continue to watch helplessly as their dreams remain unfulfilled.

According to the Alliance of University Graduates Under “Pending for Consideration” (GES), education remains a key pillar of national development, and these graduates represent a valuable resource for the country’s schools and institutions. However, bureaucratic delays and financial constraints have left many of them in limbo, unable to contribute their skills to national progress.

While acknowledging the challenges of resource allocation and budgeting, the alliance emphasized that investing in these graduates is an investment in Ghana’s future. Without swift intervention, the nation risks losing a generation of skilled professionals to idleness, economic hardship, or even migration in search of better opportunities.

The group has therefore appealed to the relevant ministries to prioritize the recruitment process and ensure that these graduates are given the opportunity to serve their nation. They argue that their years of sacrifice should be met with dignity through immediate employment, allowing them to contribute to shaping the future of the education sector.
