First Term – 15 Weeks

This marks the official start of the new academic year. All KG, Primary, and JHS students are expected to report to school on this day. Schools will begin lessons and settle into the new year’s curriculum from Day 1. - Mid-Term Break: Friday, 31st October to Monday, 3rd November 2025 (2 days)
This short break gives students and teachers time to rest and regroup midway through the term. It usually spans a long weekend, so learning resumes promptly the following Tuesday. - Closing Date: Thursday, 18th December 2025
This is the last day of school for Term 1. Schools will wrap up assessments and term activities by this date. - Vacation Period: Friday, 19th December 2025 – Wednesday, 7th January 2026

Second Term – 12 Weeks
- Reopening Date: Thursday, 8th January 2026
After the Christmas and New Year break, students return to school to begin the second academic term. The focus shifts toward deeper learning and preparation for mid-year assessments. - Closing Date: Wednesday, 1st April 2026
The term ends just before the Easter season, wrapping up another 12 weeks of instruction. - Vacation Period: Thursday, 2nd April – Monday, 20th April 2026
This three-week break includes the Easter holidays. It’s a great time for students to revise, rest, or travel with family.
Third Term – 13 Weeks
- Reopening Date: Tuesday, 21st April 2026
Students return from the Easter break to begin the final term of the academic year. This is an especially important term for JHS 3 students preparing for their final exams. - Closing Date: Thursday, 23rd July 2026
All schools will officially end the academic year on this date. It concludes the final leg of academic activities for KG through JHS. - Vacation Begins: Friday, 24th July 2026
The long vacation starts immediately after the third term ends. This is the major break of the year and continues until the next academic calendar begins in September 2026.
Special Note for JHS 3 Students – BECE Dates
The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will take place from Monday, 4th May to Sunday, 11th May 2026.
JHS 3 students are strongly encouraged to begin serious preparation as early as possible during the second and third terms.
