GES announces new portal to apply for 2025 teacher promotion to PS, ADII, ADI & DD positions – Check Here!

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced a new website portal for teachers to apply for the 2025 promotion exercise. Unlike previous years when applications were submitted through gespromotions.gov.gh, all teachers seeking promotion this year must now apply via bit.ly/gespromotion25.

This change marks a major shift in the application process, as the Service seeks to streamline and simplify online submissions for teaching staff across the country.

Who Can Apply?

The promotion exercise is open to qualified teachers/officers aspiring to move into the following ranks:

• Deputy Director (DD)
• Assistant Director I (ADI)
• Assistant Director II (ADII)
• Principal Superintendent (PS)

Key Requirements

• Deputy Director: Must have been promoted to Assistant Director I in or before 2021 and served continuously at post (excluding approved leave).
• Assistant Director I: Must have been promoted to Assistant Director II in or before 2021 and served continuously at post.
• Assistant Director II: Must have been promoted to Principal Superintendent in or before 2021 and served continuously at post.
• Principal Superintendent: Must have been promoted to Senior Superintendent I in or before 2021 and served continuously at post. Applicants with an approved undergraduate degree will automatically be placed on this rank.

Application Timeline

• Opens: Thursday, 11th September, 2025
• Closes: Thursday, 9th October, 2025

Teachers are to complete the online form and upload their documents directly through the new website:

The GES emphasized that this new website will serve as the sole platform for the 2025 promotion exercise. Teachers are therefore advised not to use the old portal (gespromotions.gov.gh) as it will not be receiving applications this year.

📌 Take Note: The new application website is the only valid link for this year’s promotion exercise. Teachers who fail to use the correct platform risk missing out on the process.
