The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the official deadline for the 2025 teacher promotion examination application. Teachers who wish to be considered for promotion this year are reminded that the application window will close on Thursday, 9th October, 2025.
The application process officially opened on Thursday, 11th September, 2025, giving teachers a little over two weeks to complete their submissions. GES has cautioned that applications submitted after the closing date will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Important Reminders
- All applications must be submitted online only through the official portal.
- Required documents include a passport-size photo, last promotion/appointment/upgrading letter, and the highest academic certificate being used for the promotion.
- Except for the passport picture, all documents must be uploaded in PDF format.
- Teachers using Master’s or PhD certificates must ensure that their qualifications were obtained in 2023 or earlier and are from GES-approved programmes.
Teachers who meet the eligibility criteria are therefore advised to complete the process well ahead of the 9th October 2025 deadline to avoid last-minute challenges.
