The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the precise dates for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School Candidates (SC) in 2024. The decision comes as part of the ongoing efforts to streamline educational processes and provide clarity to students, teachers, and educational administrators across the country.
According to the statement released by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Acting Director of the Schools and Instructions Division on behalf of the Director-General, the BECE (SC) is scheduled to take place from July 8th to July 12th, 2024. This announcement aims to ensure ample time for schools to prepare their candidates adequately.
The BECE serves as a critical milestone in the educational journey of Ghanaian students, marking the completion of their basic education and paving the way for their transition to the next phase of academic pursuit. With the official confirmation of the examination dates, schools and students can now begin their preparations in earnest, focusing on comprehensive revision and targeted exam strategies.
The Ghana Education Service has urged all Regional Directors of Education to disseminate this information promptly to Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education, who, in turn, are tasked with informing all Heads of Basic Schools to prepare their candidates accordingly. This coordinated effort is essential to ensure that every student is well-equipped to tackle the challenges of the BECE effectively.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will communicate further details regarding the registration process for the BECE in due course, facilitating smooth logistics and administrative procedures leading up to the examination period.
