In a dazzling showcase of intellect and innovation, the second edition of the National STEM competition, STEMNNOVATION 2023, unfolded at the prestigious Cedi Hall of the University of Ghana on the 14th and 15th of November.
This event, tailored exclusively for Senior High Schools across Ghana, aimed to cultivate a spirit of innovation, critical thinking, and excellence among students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The competition saw the active participation of numerous qualified schools that navigated through rigorous preliminary rounds to earn their coveted spots in the highly anticipated finals.
Among the array of talented contenders, Ahafoman Senior High Technical School emerged as the undisputed champions, showcasing not only their ingenuity and skill but also their unwavering dedication to the principles of STEM.
Ahafoman Senior High Technical School’s triumph was nothing short of spectacular, as they claimed the coveted first position in the competition. The accolades bestowed upon them were not only evidence to their hard work but also a recognition of their outstanding achievements in the STEM fields.
The school received a grand prize package that included:
- A substantial GHC 50,000 cash prize
- GHC 20,000 insurance cover from GLICO
- A state-of-the-art printer
- Laptops for the winning team
- An extraordinary all-expense-paid trip to Japan
- Full scholarships awaiting all three contestants for Engineering studies at any Ghanaian University of their choice.
Runners-Up and Other Recognitions
While Ahafoman Senior High Technical School claimed the top spot, Wesley Grammar secured the second position, and Bosomtwe Girls STEM SHS clinched the third position.
