STEMNNOVATION Contest
The STEMNNOVATION contest, organized for senior high schools, aims to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Ghana. The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has taken a bold step to support and fund this initiative.
The top 10 winners of the competition will receive funding to commercialize the solutions they develop from their STEM projects.
NEIP’s CEO, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has not only promised financial support but also emphasized the importance of comprehensive support for the winners. This support includes training, capacity building, mentorship, and access to markets. Such holistic support is vital for nurturing the budding innovators and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
The STEM project competition began with a zonal road show in the Greater Accra Region, where 14 schools participated. The event took place at the Accra Academy SHS and was a testament to the enthusiasm and potential of the young participants.
These schools displayed exceptional creativity in finding solutions to challenges faced by their communities and the nation as a whole. Their projects covered a wide range of topics, including agriculture, energy, and water.
