The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a strong warning to the general public concerning the spread of fake recruitment adverts and appointment letters being circulated on social media platforms. These fraudulent notices falsely claim to offer appointments or recruitment opportunities into the Ghana Education Service.
In a public notice dated 28th June 2025, signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, the Service clarified that although the Honourable Minister for Education had announced in Parliament plans to recruit approximately 50,000 teachers and 10,000 non-teaching staff, the official recruitment process has not yet begun.
The GES emphasized that no official recruitment has commenced and any such legitimate exercise will be communicated via official GES channels. This includes the GES website, national newspapers, and other credible media outlets.
To protect prospective applicants and the general public, the GES made the following clear points:
- The announcement in Parliament regarding recruitment is factual, but the process has not started.
- Once recruitment begins, only official GES platforms will be used to disseminate information.
- All GES recruitment processes are FREE. No individuals or groups are authorized to charge for recruitment, processing, or issuing of appointment letters.
- The public is strongly cautioned against fake appointment letters and advertisements. These are fraudulent attempts to exploit unsuspecting and vulnerable individuals.
- Anyone who encounters such fraud or is approached by individuals or groups making such claims should report immediately to the nearest police station.
- The GES reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and integrity and urged all applicants and stakeholders to rely solely on official communications from the Service.
The notice comes at a time when several unsuspecting individuals may fall victim to scams. GES encourages the public to stay vigilant and avoid being misled by these fraudulent schemes.
