In an update addressing the concerns of graduate applicants awaiting recruitment into the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr. Eric Nkansah, Director-General of GES, has called for patience as his team works to resolve the ‘Pending for Consideration’ status of many candidates. This reassurance came through a Facebook interaction on January 1, 2025, where Dr. Nkansah responded directly to an applicant’s query about their recruitment status.

The Director-General’s Assurances

Dr. Nkansah emphasized that the GES is actively pursuing the necessary clearances to recruit applicants who are currently on hold under the ‘Pending for Consideration’ category. He stated:

“Kindly be patient as we secure clearance to recruit applicants pending for consideration. Thank you.”

What’s Behind the ‘Pending for Consideration’ Status?

The ‘Pending for Consideration’ status has been a common issue for some applicants during the 2024 GES graduate recruitment exercise. This status typically indicates that while an applicant has met the qualifications and requirements for recruitment, additional approvals—such as budgetary clearances or administrative sign-offs—are needed before they can be fully processed.

What This Means for Affected Graduates

  1. Recruitment is Still Ongoing:
Dr. Nkansah’s response confirms that the process for recruiting applicants on hold has not been abandoned. Graduates should remain hopeful as clearance is actively being sought.
  2. Transparency from GES:
The public acknowledgment of the issue demonstrates GES’s commitment to keeping graduates informed, even as they navigate bureaucratic hurdles.
  3. Patience is Vital:
Applicants are encouraged to exercise patience during this time. While waiting can be frustrating, this is a necessary step to ensure a fair and thorough process.

What Graduates Should Do

  • Keep Monitoring the Portal:
Applicants should regularly check their status on the GES recruitment portal for updates. Any changes to the recruitment process will likely reflect there first.
  • Follow Official Updates:
GES will continue to release updates through their official social media platforms and website. Staying informed will help graduates avoid misinformation.
  • Avoid Speculation:
While conversations about the recruitment process are ongoing, it’s important to rely on verified information from GES to avoid unnecessary panic or confusion.

A Message of Hope

The response from Dr. Nkansah has brought a sense of relief and hope to many graduates who were uncertain about their recruitment prospects. It highlights the GES’s ongoing efforts to address their concerns and bring the recruitment process to completion.

As graduates await further announcements, they are reminded to trust the process and remain optimistic. The GES is committed to ensuring that all eligible applicants receive the opportunity to serve in Ghana’s education sector.

For now, the message is clear: “Kindly be patient as we secure clearance to recruit applicants pending for consideration.”
