Joshua Kpodjie Opey, a proud graduate of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has been handpicked for the prestigious UNICEF Youth Foresight Fellowship (UYFF) in 2023.
Mr. Opey, who holds a degree in Brands and Communications, stands out as the first Ghanaian to be chosen for this esteemed international fellowship program, initiated just two years ago.
The UYFF is an annual initiative that aspires to empower and nurture young visionaries from across the globe. This intensive, year-long mentorship program is geared towards honing their foresight skills and giving them the chance to contribute to groundbreaking research and advocacy projects.
The Fellowship program equips these young minds with the essential resources, training, and support to make a substantial impact on UNICEF’s noble mission.
The 2023 UYFF cohort comprises twelve individuals, including Joshua Opey, hailing from countries like Algeria, Comoros, Egypt, the Maldives, Mali, Myanmar, Turkey, Pakistan, the UK, and the USA. Together, these young fellows will embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and global impact.
The UYFF is more than just a program; it is a platform that fosters collaboration with UNICEF and offers young people the opportunity to work alongside their global peers and stakeholders.
It allows them to advocate for causes that are near and dear to their hearts while enhancing their leadership, communication capabilities, and anticipatory capacity within a diverse and dynamic network.
Joshua K. Opey, the Ghanaian trailblazer, is a fervent youth development advocate. His remarkable journey extends across the African continent, where he has been actively addressing issues confronting young people.
This includes facilitating corporate access, advancing the work of African researchers, and leveraging evidence to promote education in Sub-Saharan Africa. Moreover, Joshua has been instrumental in increasing youth participation in the pursuit of global sustainability.
Over the next 12 months, Joshua and his fellow UYFF participants will embark on a journey of growth, learning, and making a real impact.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Joshua K. Opey and wish him and the entire UYFF cohort a remarkable and successful journey as they work towards a brighter future for young people and a more sustainable world.
Joshua, as a UPSA graduate, you have made your alma mater proud, and we are excited to see the positive change you will bring to the world through this incredible opportunity.
