The National Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) has issued notice to Nurse Assistants, Nurses, and Midwives across Ghana, detailing the necessary steps for the renewal of their PINs/AINs.
The renewal process requires the submission of specific documents and proof of payment, ensuring that healthcare professionals maintain their licensure and stay abreast of continuous professional development.
According to the official communication, individuals who are members of GRNMA, GRMA, and NARM-GH are required to present their payslip from the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department as evidence of membership. This step is crucial in validating their standing within these professional associations.
For those who are not affiliated with the mentioned associations, the N&MC mandates the submission of a Bank Pay-in-Slip from either GCB Bank or ADB Bank. This requirement ensures that non-association members also fulfill the necessary financial obligations for the renewal process.
In addition to financial documentation, nurses and midwives must provide proof of participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs. This includes submitting certificates and logbooks demonstrating their commitment to ongoing learning and skill enhancement.
For those who find themselves lacking the required CPD points for PIN/AIN renewal, the N&MC suggests undertaking CPD programs from recognized sources. Two recommended sources include the WCEA Platform and N&MC Accredited CPD providers. A comprehensive list of Accredited CPD providers in good standing can be found on the N&MC website (nmc.gov.gh).
The N&MC emphasizes the importance of compliance with these renewal procedures to ensure that all healthcare professionals maintain the highest standards in their practice. The council encourages individuals to visit their official website for further details and to access the list of Accredited CPD providers.
Additionally, for any inquiries or clarification, the N&MC can be reached at 020 086 2772 or 050 107 9037.
