The Management of the National Service Secretariat has released the much-anticipated appointment letters for perspective service personnel for the 2023/24 service year.
The comes after the Service on September 29, released the first batch of postings of 122,275 National Service Personnel who have been assigned to various sectors of the economy to fulfill their mandatory one-year national service.
NSS noted that the second batch of postings is expected to be released in the coming days.
If you are part of those who have received their posting, follow the steps outlined below to download and print your appointment letter to be sent to your user agency for endorsement.
How to download NSS appointment letter online
- Visit the official NSS placement portal at portal.nss.gov.gh
- Locate the ‘Sign In’ button and click on it
- Select ‘Sign In As Personnel’
- Input the email address and password you used during registration and click ‘Sign In’
- Locate and click on ‘Print Posting Letter’
- Select ‘Show Appointment Letter’
- Now, save your appointment letter as PDF and print.
NSS Validation and Registration Process
All service personnel who have received their placements are required to follow a simple and straightforward validation and registration process to kickstart their national service journey.
Here is a step-by-step guide:
- Check Placement: Visit the official NSS website at portal.nss.gov.gh to check your placement.
- Appointment Letter: Once you have confirmed your placement, print your appointment letter. This letter should then be taken to your place of posting for endorsement.
- Online Appointment: Book an appointment online for the registration process after obtaining the endorsed appointment letter.
- Regional Validation and Registration: On the scheduled date and time for your appointment, head to the designated NSS Regional Validation and Registration Centre. Make sure to bring your endorsed appointment letter and a valid Ghana Card to complete the process.

The NSS Management has emphasized that they do not support or entertain any requests for changing postings. Therefore, they urge all National Service Personnel to refrain from engaging with anonymous individuals or groups promising to alter their placements.
