The National Service Scheme (NSS) has taken a significant step towards facilitating the mandatory national service for Ghanaian students in the 2023/2024 service year.
In an official press release dated August 1, 2023, the NSS management announced the release of PIN Codes for a total of 142,381 final year Ghanaian students from 125 accredited tertiary institutions in the country who have already registered for the national service.
The released PIN Codes are meant for students who have completed their final year studies and are eligible to undertake the national service. However, the NSS clarifies that the released list does not include individual defaulters who have applied for enrolment this year; their PIN Codes will be made available shortly.
To access their PIN codes, eligible final year students are advised to visit the NSS website (nss.gov.gh) and log in using their respective school Index Numbers and Date of Birth.
Once the PIN codes are obtained, the next crucial step is to make the necessary payment to activate the enrollment process. Students can either visit any branch of ADB Bank Ltd. and pay GH¢40.00 or choose the convenient option of using the MTN MoMo platform to pay GH¢41.00.
It is vital for all eligible students to complete the registration process before the closing date, which is Saturday, August 19, 2023. This ensures a smooth and efficient processing of their deployment for the national service.
Management of the NSS also appeals to accredited tertiary institutions that have not yet submitted their supplementary final year lists to do so promptly. This submission is essential to include these students in the 2023/2024 national service enrollment.
To avoid any potential errors that might hinder the processing of their deployment, all eligible final year Ghanaian students are strongly advised to personally complete the enrolment process.
