The National Teaching Council of Ghana has introduced a comprehensive fee structure to support its regulatory functions and maintain educational standards in the country.
These fees and charges, approved by the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana in 2022, apply to all teachers and play a crucial role in the council’s mission to enhance the quality of education.
Here is a breakdown of the newly implemented fees and charges:
NTC License Registration Fee & Renewal Charges
| Product | Cost |
| License Registration | GH₵50.00 |
| License Card | GH₵200.00 |
| License Renewal | GH₵100.00 |
- Licence Card (GH₵200.00): Teachers are now required to pay GH₵200.00 for obtaining their teaching license.
- Renewal of Licence (GH₵100.00): Teachers must pay a renewal fee of GH₵100.00 to maintain their teaching license.
- Registration of Teachers (GH₵50.00): A fee of GH₵50.00 is applicable for the registration of teachers.
These fees are in accordance with the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022 and are designed to collectively support the teaching profession, ensure ongoing professional development, and uphold the high educational standards in Ghana.
The National Teaching Council encourages teachers and educational institutions to be aware of these changes and comply with the fee and charges regulations. The funds generated through these fees will enable the council to continue its vital work in improving the teaching profession and, consequently, the overall education system in Ghana.
Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, the Registrar of the National Teaching Council, extends his appreciation to all stakeholders for their support and cooperation in this initiative. These fees and charges are instrumental in advancing the educational sector and fostering excellence in teaching, ultimately benefiting both teachers and students.
