The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially announced the registration deadline for the 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) I. This examination is crucial for both resit candidates and fresh graduates seeking to acquire a professional teaching license in Ghana.
Final Registration Deadline: 7th July 2025
All eligible candidates are strongly advised to complete their registration on or before Sunday, 7th July 2025. The NTC has emphasized that there will be no extension beyond this date, and late registration will not be accepted under any circumstances.
This deadline applies to:
- Resitters who still have outstanding papers to clear
- Fresh graduates (including national service personnel) holding a Bachelor of Education or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
Why This Deadline Is Critical
This registration marks the last opportunity for resit candidates under the current post-graduation licensure structure. After a final resit exam in October 2025, candidates who still do not pass will be required to restart the licensure process. This means rejoining their peers in teacher education institutions to write the new professional exams starting in 2026.
