The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially announced the registration details for the 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) I. Aspiring teachers who wish to sit for the examination are encouraged to take note of the eligibility criteria, registration procedures, and key dates outlined by the Council.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to write the 2025 GTLE I, a candidate must:
- Hold a Bachelor of Education Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
- For those with foreign qualifications, a certificate evaluation report from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) is required to confirm eligibility.
Before starting the registration process, all candidates are advised to check their status on the NTC indexing portal via indexing.ntc.gov.gh.
Indexing Information
- An indexing fee of GHC 50.00 is required.
- Re-sit candidates are exempted from the indexing process.
Payment Options
Candidates may make payments through:
- Any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide, or
- Mobile money using the shortcode *772*51# across all networks. Payments must be made using the candidate’s college or university index number.
Upon successful payment, candidates will receive a confirmation message containing their name, indexing number, and further instructions.

- Registration Begins: 16th June, 2025
- Registration Deadline: 7th July, 2025
- Examination Dates: 18th to 20th July, 2025
