The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has officially commenced engagements toward determining the National Base Pay for the 2026 financial year. This move marks the beginning of structured negotiations between the Government of Ghana and Organized Labour, aimed at ensuring fairness, equity, and sustainability within the public sector pay regime.
According to an official invitation letter dated 29th October 2025 and signed by Dr. George Smith-Graham, the Acting Chief Executive of the FWSC, the Commission has invited representatives of the Government Team and one (1) representative each from Organized Labour groups to participate in the discussions.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday, 31st October 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Ghana Employers Association Conference Room. The agenda for the meeting is focused solely on the 2026 Base Pay Negotiations.
The FWSC emphasized that this consultative meeting forms part of the government’s broader effort to uphold a transparent and inclusive process in setting public sector wages. By involving key stakeholders early in the negotiation process, the Commission seeks to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among all parties.
In the letter, the FWSC expressed optimism about the deliberations, highlighting the importance of punctual and constructive participation to ensure a smooth and productive session.
