In a moment of immense pride and gratitude, the Ministry of Education of Ghana has been honored with the title of the best in the Education Service Category by the UAE Government at the esteemed 2024 GOVTECH Prize. This recognition, a distinguished highlight of the World Government Summit, shows the remarkable success of the Ghana Education Outcomes Project (GEOP) in revolutionizing education within the country.

The accolade celebrates the outstanding achievements of the Ghana Education Outcomes Project (GEOP), specifically its role in reintegrating 17,340 learners from the Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP) back into mainstream schools. In just one year, the project has not only facilitated the seamless transition of these learners but has also significantly enhanced learning outcomes through innovative interventions.
Amongst fierce competition, with over 1000 applicants vying for recognition in the Education Service Category, Ghana’s Ministry of Education emerged victorious. This triumph serves as proof to the impactful collaboration between the Ministry and GEOP, an additional funding project operating under the Ghana Accountability Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP).
Acknowledgment and gratitude are extended to various stakeholders whose contributions have been instrumental in the success of this endeavor. The Ministry expresses sincere appreciation to the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) for their funding support, the World Bank for their technical assistance and project management, and the Education Outcomes Fund (EOF) Team for their innovative outcomes-based design.
Furthermore, recognition is extended to esteemed service providers – Ghana TransformED Partnership, School for Life Rising Education Outcomes Partnership, and Plan International, Ghana – for their invaluable contributions and innovative interventions.
In closing, the Ministry of Education of Ghana calls upon all stakeholders to continue the collective journey towards a brighter, more inclusive future for all Ghanaian children. This prestigious award serves as both a recognition of past achievements and a catalyst for future endeavors in transforming education within the nation.
