The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced an extension to the deadline for the 2024 promotion application process, offering eligible teaching and non-teaching staff a valuable opportunity to vie for higher positions within the organization. This extension comes in response to connectivity challenges experienced by some applicants, ensuring that all qualified individuals have the chance to apply.
With the updated information, the deadline for the online application has been extended to April 12, 2024, providing additional time for those who have not yet submitted their applications.
Eligibility Criteria Remain Unchanged
Applicants must still meet specific eligibility criteria to be considered for promotion. Teaching staff aiming for promotion to grades such as Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent must have fulfilled the relevant qualifications and continuous service requirements, as outlined in the initial announcement.
Similarly, non-teaching staff seeking promotion to various grades across different classes within the GES must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria specified in the previous communication. These criteria include being promoted to their present grade on or before September 1, 2019, and maintaining continuous service since that date, with approved absences duly noted.
How to Apply
All eligible applicants, whether teaching or non-teaching staff, are required to complete the online application form available on the official promotion portal at gespromotions.gov.gh.
Applicants must ensure they provide accurate information and adhere to the guidelines outlined by the GES. This includes uploading necessary documents such as a passport-sized photograph, the last Promotion, Upgrading, or Appointment Letter, and, for those with Master’s or Doctorate Degrees, their certificates. It is imperative that all documents are in PDF format, except for the passport-sized photograph, which should be clear and readable.
Accessing the Promotion Portal
To access the promotion portal and initiate the application process, applicants should visit gespromotions.gov.gh. The portal provides all necessary instructions and resources to guide applicants through the application process smoothly.
Continuous Service Requirement
Applicants must ensure they have been continuously at their post since September 1, 2019, unless periods of absence have been approved. Failure to meet this requirement may result in disqualification from the promotion process.
The extension of the deadline for the 2024 promotion application process by the Ghana Education Service offers a significant opportunity for eligible teaching and non-teaching staff to advance their careers within the organization. Applicants are encouraged to take advantage of this extended deadline and submit their applications promptly to ensure eligibility for consideration.
