The Ghana Education Service (GES) has recently issued an important update regarding the self-posting process for 2022 graduates from Public Colleges of Education. This new development follows the innovative launch of the GES self-posting module, designed to streamline the recruitment and deployment of newly trained teachers across the country.
Extension of Deadlines
Due to unforeseen technical difficulties with the recruitment portal, GES has announced an extension of the deadlines for the self-posting process. The original deadline for portal closure, initially set for July 31, 2024, has now been extended to August 21, 2024.
Similarly, the deadline for the submission of appointment letters, previously August 7, 2024, has also been pushed to August 21, 2024. The extension aims to accommodate applicants facing challenges due to these technical issues.
Why Self-Posting?
The self-posting module offers several advantages:
- Language Proficiency: Ensures teachers are posted to regions where they can effectively communicate in the local language (L1), enhancing the teaching and learning environment.
- Proximity to Family: Allows teachers to select schools near their families, providing economic and emotional support.
Accessing the Self-Posting Platform
Qualified applicants must follow these steps to access their appointment letters:
- Visit the Portal: Go to gespromotions.gov.gh.
- Verify Qualification: Enter the College Index Number.
- Provide Details: Input phone number and NTC number for validation.
- Receive OTP: A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the provided phone number.
- Enter OTP: Input the OTP on the portal.
- Select Preferences: Choose the preferred Region, District, and School, then submit.
- Save and Print: Save and print the Appointment Letter.
Verification of Appointment Letters
To ensure the authenticity of appointment letters, each letter will feature a QR Code. Applicants can scan this code with a smartphone to verify the letter, eliminating the risk of fake appointment letters.
Next Steps for Successful Applicants
Once the Appointment Letter is received, successful applicants should proceed to their respective Regional Education Directorates with their Ghana Card and other necessary documents for verification and further directives.
Monitoring Updates
Applicants are advised to monitor the GES website and other official communication channels for regular updates.
The GES acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the technical difficulties and appreciates the patience of all applicants as they work to resolve these issues and complete the self-posting process.
For further updates and detailed instructions on the GES recruitment process, applicants should stay tuned to official announcements.
