The Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced a new ‘self-posting’ module for recruiting the first batch of degree holders (2022) from Public Colleges of Education. This innovative approach aims to enhance teacher deployment based on language proficiency and personal preference, ensuring effective teaching and learning environments across Ghana.

Recruitment Statistics

The GES received a total of 21,010 applications, out of which 12,784 graduates from Public Colleges of Education met the eligibility criteria.

Self-Posting Module Details

All 2022 graduates who applied via the gespromotions.gov.gh platform and fulfilled the requirements are required to visit the portal from 5th July to 31st July 2024. During this period, applicants are to select their preferred Region, District, and School for deployment.

This method allows teachers to serve in regions where they are fluent in the local language (L1), promoting better communication and community integration. It also enables them to choose schools close to their families, fostering stronger support systems.

Steps to Access Appointment Letters

Qualified applicants must follow these steps:

  1. Visit gespromotions.gov.gh.
  2. Verify qualification using College Index Number.
  3. Provide accurate phone number and NTC number.
  4. Receive and enter One-Time Password (OTP).
  5. Select preferred Region, District, and School.
  6. Save and print Appointment Letter.

Verification Process

Appointment Letters feature QR Codes for validation to prevent fraud. Successful applicants must present their Ghana Card and other necessary documents at their Regional Education Directorates for verification and further instructions.

Necessary Documents for Onboarding

Upon printing the Appointment Letter, candidates must prepare the following documents for submission:

  1. Medical Report
  2. Ghana Card
  3. Acceptance Letter
  4. University Degree Certificate (Original & Certified True Copy)
  5. National Service Certificate
  6. Licensure Examination Certificate
  7. Birth Certificate
  8. National ID Card (Ghana Card)
  9. SSNIT Biometric Card (SSNIT Number)
  10. Bank Account Details
  11. WASSCE Certificate
  12. BECE Certificate
  13. Passport Pictures
  14. Any other relevant documents
