In a significant move towards improving the recruitment process for newly trained teachers, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced an innovative ‘self-posting’ module. This development is aimed at the first batch of degree holders from Public Colleges of Education who graduated in 2022.
The self-posting module represents a major shift from traditional posting methods, offering a more efficient, user-friendly, and language-sensitive approach to teacher placement.
What is the Self-Posting Module?
The self-posting module allows qualified graduates to select their preferred Region, District, and School through an online portal. This system not only empowers teachers to choose locations where they are comfortable and familiar with the local language (L1), but it also facilitates a smoother transition into their teaching roles by placing them in communities where they can effectively communicate and engage with students.

How to Access the Self-Posting Platform
Qualified applicants can follow these steps to access their appointment letters:
- Visit the GES Promotions Portal.
- Enter your College Index Number to verify your qualification.
- Enter your phone number and NTC number accurately for validation.
- A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your phone number.
- Enter the OTP on the portal.
- Select your preferred Region, District, and School, then submit your choices.
- Save and print out your Appointment Letter.
Verification Process
To ensure authenticity, all Appointment Letters will include a QR Code. Applicants can scan this code with their smartphones to verify the letter’s legitimacy. Successful applicants must then proceed to their respective Regional Education Directorates with their Ghana Card and other necessary documents for further verification and instructions.
