As school is in session and students and teachers are weeks into the academic year, the Management of the Ghana Education Service has revised the 2023/24 academic calendar for KG, Primary and Junior High Schools in the country.
Upon resuming school for the academic activities on January 10 for the first term, KG, Primary and Junior High School teachers and students will be in school until March 24 when they will break/vacate.
They will stay home from March 25 to April 2 and reopen for the second term on April 3 through to June 15.
Vacation date for second term of the 2023/24 academic year is slated for June 16 to June 26 for all teachers and students in the basic schools in the country.
Third term begins on June 27 to September 14 when school will vacate again in hopes for the next academic year calendar.
Parents, guardians, stakeholders, teachers and students are to take note of these dates and follow it accordingly.
Schools will run 7 hours a day (6 contact hours, an hour break), and the Ghana Education Service anticipates to conduct this year’s edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination in the months of September/October.
