The National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced the commencement of registration for the re-sit examination for Diploma graduates in Ghana. This initiative comes in accordance with the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 (ACT 1023), which mandates the NTC to regulate the teaching profession in the country.
The purpose of this licensure examination is to grant qualified teachers a professional license and to ensure that they meet the standards set by the National Teachers’ Standards on professional knowledge, practice, values, and attitudes essential for effective teaching in schools.
Eligibility for the Licensure Examination
- Candidates who previously attempted the traditional Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination but were unsuccessful in some papers are eligible to register for re-sitting.
- Registration is to be completed online at exams.ntc.gov.gh, where candidates will fill out the application form for the licensure examination.
Registration Fees
- Candidates re-sitting one paper are required to pay GHȻ 150.00.
- Candidates re-sitting two papers are required to pay GHȻ 210.00.
- Candidates re-sitting all three papers are required to pay GHȻ 385.00.
Payment Methods
Payment can be made at any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide or through mobile money payment using the short code *772*51# across all networks. Candidates opting for in-banking payment must inform the bank accordingly, specifying the number of papers they are re-sitting. Upon payment, candidates will receive a Pin and Serial No. from the bank, which they will use during the online registration process.
Registration Process
- Log onto exams.ntc.gov.gh
- Enter the e-voucher Serial No. and Pin obtained from the bank
- Fill in all required fields and upload a passport-size photograph
- Review the information provided and submit
- Print a summary of the inputs made
- Read and acknowledge the examination regulations before submission
Important Notes
- The registration is exclusively for re-sit candidates of the traditional Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination. Following the implementation of GTLE reform, there will be no further examinations for the traditional subjects (Essential Professional Skills, Literacy, and Numeracy) beyond 2024. Any candidate wishing to take the GTLE thereafter will need to undertake the reformed GTLE from 2024 onwards.
- NTC will not entertain requests for changing photographs after the examination.
- Completed application forms must be submitted online no later than April 22nd, 2024. There will be no extension in the registration deadline.
- The dress code for the examination is formal attire, and bathroom slippers are not permitted. Additionally, babies are not allowed in the examination hall.
Date for Examination
The re-sit examination is scheduled for May 9th and 10th, 2024. Candidates are advised to keep their PIN and SERIAL NUMBERS secure after registration for further use during the examination process.

I hope that after the recruitment of the 2022 batch of Degree holders from college of Education GES have plans to recruit University graduate including all Diploma graduate who are also waiting patiently to vote in 2024 December election .
