Presec, Legon beats Accra Aca & GSTS 'wotowoto' to qualify for NSMQ 2023 semifinals

The National Science and Maths Quiz, one of Ghana’s most prestigious academic competitions, has been nothing short of exciting this year. As the competition intensifies, we have seen teams from across the country displaying their knowledge and skills in mathematics and science.

After five intense rounds, we now have the pleasure of announcing that Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon, has secured their place in the semifinals of the National Championship.

Round 1

The competition kicked off with a bang, and PRESEC, Legon started strong, amassing 28 points. Accra Academy was close behind with 26 points, while GSTS managed to secure 11 points.

Round 2

PRESEC continued their impressive run, extending their lead by scoring 12 more points, bringing their total to 40. Accra Academy made a commendable effort, accumulating 33 points, while GSTS added a point to their score, bringing them to 10.

Round 3

The third round witnessed PRESEC, Legon, maintaining their lead with a total of 47 points. Accra Academy remained strong with 38 points, while GSTS made a slight advancement with 15 points.

Round 4

As the competition reached its peak, PRESEC, Legon, further solidified their position by scoring an impressive 60 points. Accra Academy kept up the fight with 48 points, while GSTS showed their determination with 31 points.

Round 5

The last round saw PRESEC, Legon, maintain their lead with a total of 63 points. Accra Academy came close, finishing with 58 points, while GSTS also ended with 31 points.

After five rounds of fierce competition, it is clear that PRESEC, Legon, has shown exceptional knowledge and skills, securing their place in the semifinals of the National Science and Maths Quiz. The team’s consistent performance and determination have undoubtedly paid off.
